Thanks so much for stopping by and checking out our music and website.
Together we are East of Nowhere, and individually we are Jeff and Teresa. We were both traveling two very different roads in life when we crossed one another's path at a small town concert on a Black Friday after Thanksgiving a few years ago. And here we are, traveling the same road now with the dream of making music that touches other people's hearts and lives.
Jeff has had music running through his veins since he was born. His grandfather played guitar for the Green Valley Jamboree on the Rem Wall Show. He picked up the guitar at age 11 and went on to play in rock bands that made a small name for themselves and learn recording..
I, Teresa, played the role of freelance music journalist, interviewing both celebrities and common folk and writing about how their lives made dramatic turnarounds for the better. I played guitar too but only at home on my front porch.
Oddly, it was old time flat-picking fiddle tunes that united us and made us realize that we had something in common. Jeff had attended the Steve Kaufman Acoustic Kamp in Maryville for several years, and I had learned several of these old tunes from my childhood guitar teacher, Mr. Spry. Jeff was the only person I knew at the time who could play them. He encouraged me to go to Kamp, and my life changed forever. Kamp fired my passion for playing music, and I haven't stopped working hard at getting better since the day I took my first class.
So here we are with our first project, Daydream, in production. It should be delivered and ready to be distributed in just a couple of weeks or less!
The album is not flat picking. It's kind of an artistic collage of all that we are. There are touches of rock, country, folk, jazz, gospel and definitely indie throughout the whole project. And, yes, we give a little nod to our beloved fiddle tunes. This album is the result of every daydream that each one of us has ever had.
We all have dreams, some big, some small. We may not be on the next cover of Rolling Stone, but we are so grateful that God has blessed us with music,
We would love for you to go on this journey with us. Everyone needs friends, needs family, and we would like for you to be a part of our lives. We don't take for granted your time. It means so much to us to see you at our shows, to talk with you, to have you visit our website.
In short, where is our compass pointing? Hopefully, to more music opportunities to make connections with people like you. Thank you for being there. We notice, and we appreciate you! We hope our music inspires you to make your daydreams come true.
